Pearl Butterfly

Fox is right, this is tortuous tatting! You have to keep your wits about you. I considered doing the wings separately and then joining them onto a body, but in the end went with doing them in one pass, with no body.  That was because I could, and because I think it would've been difficult to get the angle of the wings right. Perhaps I should do the two sides separately? That's a possibility.

  2. that is looking pretty good.
I can see that if you would want a body, you would move the wings further apart, they would be less crowded. I wonder if you couldn't put several chain stitches between the wings, which would out line the sides of the body, and put a small regular ring between the bottom wings for the end of the body and a split ring with antennae at the top.

  3. Ah, that's a good idea, to incorporate the body as it were. This definitely needs some work. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm working on a beaded version at the moment, but will come back to this one.
